Refraction.....Acrylic Painting.

Refraction.....Acrylic Painting.

Like with most of my work, this kind of abstract painting contains a prevalence of flow, movement and illuminating colours or light, from which we get all the different hues. So , it is a depiction of fluidity and light turning into rainbow patterns, derived from the experimenting and deliberate strokes and subtle painting.

The basis of ‘Refraction’ was thought and plotted out initially, as I prefer to do, but not only. An elaboration takes place as I go along and it took me quite a while to complete it. Apart from the stamina and keeping enthused, time to reflect on the progress is essential for me to arrive to the completion of a painting. A contemplation, so to speak, which helps me refresh my thoughts and help me focus.

It’s quite a sizeable piece and the painting is extended right around the sides. Having painted it on a 3.8cm thick canvas, I was able to use the sides in this way. It is not intended to be framed and can be enjoyed in its entirety as it is.
